"This is a spectacular loop above tree line in Mount Shasta’s historic Old Ski Bowl, where a ski park once operated. The trail climbs high over rocky slopes and through a secluded valley on the way to the ruins of the ski park’s chairlift, where staggering views await. On the return leg of the loop, the trail skirts the edge of Green Butte before passing a hidden spring." Read more
