Grey Pine Trail to Eagle View

Santa Margarita, California

Grey Pine Trail to Eagle View Professional Review and Guide

"The Grey Pine Trail weaves through the foothills at the base of the mountains next to Santa Margarita Lake. The hike winds through the shade of an oak-studded forest beneath magnificent sandstone rock outcroppings. The trail ends at Eagle View, a rocky point 326 feet above the lake. There are great views in every direction."

Loved this trail. $10.00 day use few. Well maintained and marked. Several trails to follow to make the distance longer or shorter. Hazards are ticks, bear, snakes and mountain lions. Did not see anything except beautiful deer and birds. Several uphill climbs but nothin too steep. Beautiful views of the lake and the rock formations are breath taking.
