Manzanita Peak to Los Pinetos Canyon

Manzanita Peak to Los Pinetos Canyon Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The grand tour of Placerita Canyon country takes you swiftly up a steep trail and fire break to the top of a ridge spur of the San Gabriels, and then easily back downward via the Los Pinetos and Placerita Canyon trails. Start the hike early (the park gate opens at 9 a.m.) so you avoid broiling in the midday sun while ascending.

Start by picking up the Hillside Trail just behind the restroom building near the west end of the picnic area in Placerita Canyon Park. Climb past oaks and chaparral to a point just short of the camouflage-painted water tank. There you'll find an unmarked but well-worn trail heading straight up the ridge."
