The Aniso Trail (Chumash for seagull) is a paved hiking and biking trail along the sea cliffs and marine terraces connecting El Capitan State Beach to Refugio State Beach. The trail, an ancient Chumash trade route, follows the bluffs past weathered rock formations and secluded coves, offering constant views of the coastline. El Capitan State Beach sits at the mouth of El Capitan Creek in a extensive riparian woodland of coastal oaks and sycamores. Refugio State Beach, at the mouth of Refugio Canyon, has a palm-lined sandy beach cove and rocky shoreline with tidepools. Refugio Creek meanders through the park.

Much of this trail runs along the bluffs overlooking the ocean, but uncomfortably close to US 101 -- a VERY busy highway. This is not a hike I would recommend to anyone.
