The Terrace Hill Open Space is a pocket of nature inside the city of San Luis Obispo. The trail is a short easy, scenic hike to an unobstructed terraced plateau. The morro-like rounded summit was bulldozed many years ago, creating a mesa. From the grassy flat are great panoramic views of the whole city. The Santa Lucia Range defines the city border to the north and east. Notice how the homes and development contour to the diverse geography around the city. Also within sight are Edna Valley and the chain of morros, including South Hills, Islay Hill, Orcott Knob, Cerro San Luis Obispo and Bishop Peak.
