Sweet Springs Nature Preserve is a 24-acre wetland sanctuary for nesting and migrating birds on the southeast shore of Morro Bay. There are two serene freshwater ponds, a saltwater marsh at the bay, Monterey cypress and eucalyptus groves. The eucalyptus groves are home to monarch butterflies during the winter months. The preserve is managed by the Morro Coast Audubon Society.
