Felsman Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Felsman Loop, part of the Bishop Peak trail system, explores the forested northern foothills of Bishop Peak. The lower reaches of this reserve cross through open grasslands, shady woodland and chaparral. At the northern end of the open space, the trail follows a ridge overlooking the Santa Lucia Mountains, Poly Canyon, Cuesta Ridge, San Luis Obispo and the line of morros."

I am preparing for the Wildflower mountainbike triathalon next year and am using this trail to get into better shape. It is an easy walking trail, but I haven't yet been able to jog the entire trail without stopping for breathers. The trail provides views of the hills surrounding Bishop Peak's eastern side with Cal Poly in the distance. I would highly recommend this trail for the person who either likes taking nature walks or wants to improve stamina through an aggressive jogging trail.
