Mineral Springs and Penitencia Creek Trails

Mineral Springs and Penitencia Creek Trails Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Tucked in a steep canyon, Alum Rock Park has been a retreat for the bone-weary since 1872. Its mineral springs, captured in grottos and fonts along Penitencia Creek, were incorporated into a world-famous spa at the turn of the twentieth century.

Follow an easy trail past grottos of oozing and burbling springs, then Penitencia Creek up to its confluence with Aguague Creek, where a wintertime waterfall may be seen."
