Pine Lake to the Panhandle

Pine Lake to the Panhandle Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This hike takes you on a long stretch of the Bay Area Ridge Trail. When complete, the Ridge Trail will be a 550-mile continuous loop above the San Francisco Bay. On this hike, you’ll walk through the center of the city, climbing Twin Peaks, Tank Hill, Mount Olympus, and Buena Vista Park.

While the official Ridge Trail route runs alongside most of these hills, this route takes you over them. But it’s not all hills on this hike: you start with a stroll through Pine Lake Park and Stern Grove and then head just moderately uphill through the West Portal and Forest Hill Extension neighborhoods."
