Mount Davidson is the highest point in San Francisco at 927 feet. Its peak is also home to a giant concrete 103-foot cross, which stands as a memorial to the 1.5 million victims of the genocide of Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Turks between 1915 and 1923. A short and easy hike, it is one you shouldn’t miss as it affords amazing panoramic views of the city of San Francisco, the bay, and, on a clear day, the jutting point of Mount Diablo off in the distance to the east.
