Sunset Cliffs Professional Review and Guide

"Difficult-to-reach Sunset Cliffs is an intermediate to advanced surfer break under most conditions. The current can be strong, and the swell produces fast, hollow waves.

Currents can be extremely strong, and there’s no easy put-in or takeout area for you and your board. Low tides will produce fast, hard-breaking waves, but at mid- to high tide the wave can be slow to washed out. Surf conditions vary a lot here. The break at Sunset Cliffs stretches over a 3-mile area. Although there are a few beginner spots, the area should be tested only by an experienced paddler."
