"This segment follows a short stretch of trail, and then joins a dirt road. Some maps such as the Fine Edge San Bernardino Mountains Recreation Topo show the trail leading all the way to Morton Peak, but chaparral has reclaimed the lower part. The trail is exposed to the merciless sun and can be unpleasantly hot on a summer afternoon; bring plenty of water. During the fall hunting season, wear bright colors and be particularly alert for the first half mile." Read more
