William Land Park Tour Professional Review and Guide
"Flat, easy paths wind through one of Sacramento’s premier city parks, circling ponds, skirting a golf course, and permitting access to family attractions including the Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town. William Land Park is one of Sacramento’s first urban sanctuaries.
The park was conceived in 1911, when former mayor William Land gifted the city a generous sum of money earmarked for a city park. The parcel, called a “swamp” by Land’s heirs, according to writer Steven Avella, was purchased in 1918, though controversy about its suitability landed the acquisition in court."
