Sacramento Waterfront Loop Trail

Sacramento, California

Sacramento Waterfront Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This urban walk showcases the history of the Old Sacramento waterfront and the recreational amenities of the Sacramento River Promenade on the east bank and the River Walk on the west bank. The route crosses two historical but quite different bridges, and provides great views of the Sacramento River and the increasingly distinct urban skyline surrounding the river. It also features a short out-and-back side trip along the bike path to Discovery Park, past the City’s unique water intake structure to the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers. Plan on doing this hike in conjunction with visiting the various nearby museums and tourist establishments in Old Sacramento."
