Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The National Children’s Forest is just east of the campground. Site of the most devastating fire in the history of the San Bernardino National Forest, the area was replanted by local children with the support of the Hunt Wesson Company.

A self-guiding, 45-minute loop trail tells the story. The trail is wheelchair accessible. A key is required to enter the campground—it can be obtained by mail or from the Deer Lick Fire Station. Elevation 7,500 feet. Stay limit fourteen days. Open approximately May through October."
