Pick a clear, cool day, and set aside the better part of it for this hike to one of the highest ridges in Caspers Wilderness Park. You’ll have a wonderful view of the higher Santa Anas, the Los Angeles Basin, the San Joaquin Hills, and the ocean. You’ll return along San Juan Creek, meandering in and out of the shade of oaks and sycamores.

I took this trail with a group of Boy Scouts ages 12-16. It was a challenging hike for the younger boys, but they did well. The maze of trails kept it fun for the older boys - they used a map & compass and helped teach the younger kids.
