Smithe Redwoods State Reserve Waterfalls

Smithe Redwoods State Reserve Waterfalls Professional Review and Guide

"This cozy 665-acre park, formerly known as Lane’s Redwood Flat, used to be a private resort until the state took it over. Pretty as Dora Creek Falls may be, it is easy to see why the famous Lane’s Tunnel Tree steals the show. This majestic redwood sits right next to the road, offering visitors a chance to walk through the extensive tunnel in its trunk. The reserve is off Highway 101 about 4 miles north of Leggett and about 2.5 miles north of Standish-Hickey State Recreation Area. This trail guide contains descriptions of the following trails: Dora Creek Falls."

This is a very well hidden trail,...Once on the trail it is a very short hike uphill, to a breathe taking waterfall. Very quiet, If the trees break loose at the top of the waterfall, it'll be even more spectacular....for a 30 foot waterfall.(a couple branches have) For a small waterfall it was a really nice hike, pretty scenery, wildflowers, and strawberries. IF the strawberries were ripe, what a yummy snack it would be.
