    "Finding the campground: From the intersection of US 395 and CA 178 west of Ridgecrest, drive west on CA 178 for 16 miles. Upon reaching the top of Walker Pass, continue slowly, watching for the campground sign about 100 yards farther on the left.

    About the campground: Walker Pass is a trailhead for the Pacific Crest Trail, which passes less than 0.25 a mile away. Elevation 5,200 feet. Stay limit fourteen days. Open all year."
