West Ridge Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"On the drive up, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to gaze out on the East Bay, if you can see past all the home construction. But once you reach the large parking area announcing the Redwood Regional Park, breathe a sigh of relief, as you’ll soon lose yourself in a forest of redwoods. Yep, big ol’ redwoods, here in the East Bay. Strange, but true. This is a park with a variety of trail choices—all open to leashed dogs—but taking the West Ridge Trail to East Ridge Trail route gets you into the wild the quickest, and it’s the prettiest option (my humble opinion)."

Great hike! Only takes 1 1/2 hour. You might want to reverse the loop. Downhill is very steep. I find it easier on legs to walk up an easier slope.
