Lady Bird Grove Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"A knoll at the north end of Bald Hills Ridge harboring an old-growth upland redwood forest was chosen as the site for the dedication of Redwood National Park in 1969. Among the dignitaries in attendance were President Richard M. Nixon, Governor Ronald Reagan, and Lady Bird Johnson, wife of former President Lyndon Baines Johnson, who signed the bill creating the park on October 2, 1968. Nowadays, visitors can stroll along a nearly level loop through an impressive stand of tall trees. A color brochure provides interesting tidbits of botanical and historical information. Park benches offer fine places from which to relax and enjoy the forest."
