San Gorgonio via Dollar and Dry Lakes Professional Review and Guide
"This loop up and over San Gorgonio from the north is longer than the Vivian Creek approach, but is arguably even more scenic. It features a fine forest, scenic meadows with wildflowers, an extended traverse at and above treeline, and visits to both of the tiny lakes in San Gorgonio Wilderness. This trip can be done as a long dayhike or as a 2–3 day backpacking trip. If you are backpacking, check www.sgwa.org for the latest information on availability of water. This side of the mountain can hold its snowpack into the early summer, so check conditions and bring appropriate gear."
