Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Situated along the Rim of the World Scenic Byway, Barton Flats campgrounds offer some of the best facilities in the San Bernardino National Forest and some of its best hiking trails. Most of the trails into the San Gorgonio Wilderness begin here, and access to the Pacific Crest Trail is nearby.

The Santa Ana River Trail passes through the park, as does the Lost Creek Trail. A visitor center is open during the summer months. Fishing is possible in the Santa Ana River at South Fork Campground (see no. 347 below). Elevation 6,100 feet. Stay limit fourteen days. Open approximately May through October."
