Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Finding the campground: From the intersection of I-5 and CA 36 in Red Bluff, drive west 13 miles on CA 36. Turn left onto Cannon Road and go approximately 23.5 miles on this gravel road (the name will change to Pettijohn Road); stay on this road to the National Forest Boundary sign. Continue another 1.6 miles to FR 27N06; turn left and travel about 1 mile to the campground.

About the campground: This campground will mainly interest equestrians and hikers. Trails extend west from the campground into the Yolla Bolly−Middle Eel Wilderness; several loop back to camp. The area is dry and sparsely vegetated and better suited to horses than hikers. Elevation 5,600 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open all year."
