Rand Mountain Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Many ATV and dirt bike riders know this mountain as the “California City Riding Area.” The area includes roads wide enough for SUVs and Jeeps. There are many marked routes in the area, which you must stay on at all times. This is a sensitive desert tortoise area. It is against the law to pick up a desert tortoise unless it is in grave danger. Lower portion of trail is easy, but as you climb higher into the mountains, the trail becomes narrrow, steep and rocky in places. Suitable for aggressive stock, high-clearance, 4WD SUVs. Not for wide, oversized or long wheel-based vehicles. Light brush may touch vehicle. Use caution; many open mine shaft are located throughout the area. Route-finding is complex with many crisscrossing roads at top of mountain."
