Park Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Park Trail, the Presidio’s main north-south hiking trail, unfurls slowly before you and grows more interesting along the way. It starts in the Presidio’s Public Health Service District, where a former hospital, nurses’ quarters, and other buildings have been renovated into apartments, houses, and offices.

The path continues uphill through the Presidio Golf Course and reaches its peak elevation along Washington Boulevard. From there, it’s all downhill as you pass the San Francisco National Cemetery, a cypress grove, the former cavalry stables, the Park Archives and Records Center, and the Presidio Pet Cemetery.

The midpoint of the hike (or end if you’re traveling one way) at Crissy Field features panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay."
