"An out-and-back backpack to a trio of classic glacial lakes with wildflowers galore. While the net elevation gain for this hike is only 1,050 feet, there are so many ups and downs in between that you’ll be gaining and losing at least three times that much."

Maggie is awesome - magnificent lakes, amazing vistas and flower-filled meadows all along the way. There's a lot of elevation gain, but it is also constantly rolling up and down. This is a rugged, tough hike of you try to do it quickly in a day, obviously. It's more of a joy if you take your time and give yourself a few days! Bring bug spray.

Trail is clear and well maintained all the way. Lots of up and down. No water until creek a mile before Maggie lakes. Saw only three other tents all Labor Day weekend.

This was a wicked hike offering lots of peace and solitude! There was lots of variety on the trail as far as scenery and difficulty of the trail goes. I loved the meadows, coming across 'em always seems to give an energy boost. It's 9.3 miles hike from Summit trail head, good workout for sure with some steep climbs. If you are moderately fit, it should not be a problem. If you'd like to explore this trail, you'd have to gather up some patience to reach the trail head. Passenger car will do but it's a slow 11 mile drive off of Hwy 190. In general I'm always looking for new places to hike but I would go back for this one and take a bit more time for it.
