Laguna Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This exploration of the coastal habitats near Limantour Beach includes passage through a dense stand of alders. Shade is a sparse commodity in the coastal scrublands of Limantour. But at the beach end of the nameless creek that gathers high on Inverness Ridge, runs down through Laguna Ranch, and traces the Coast Trail to the ridge of dunes at the beach front, alders grow in great profusion. They swell out from the banks of the creek, crowding against the sides of the valley. When leafed out, the trees throw dense shade over the trail; when naked, the boughs filter the sun in a intricate latticework."

This is a good guide to a nice afternoon walk along Point Reyes beach. Even on foggy days there is plenty to see. Even though the rating is "moderate", even light hikers will enjoy this walk if they take their time. (see http://www.flickr.com/photos/73658893@N00/sets/72157622001912939/ for more photos)
