Great Day for a hike! weather was awesome, very few mosquitoes but still biting flies. part of this hike is pretty strenuous - steeeeeep with boulders. But other than that, I'd say a good hike - only thing is, Gertrude lake is not very pretty - George went to tyler lake also, but the rest of us decided that gertrude was far enough . There is a fairly long section without water for the dog, so pack extra. We didn't find tylers grave :(

Did this hike in 90 degree weather so it probably seemed a little tougher than it really is. Nonetheless it's a very satisfying trip up to Gertrude on steep granite and there was lots of solitude to be found there once we arrived. We didn't make it to Tyler, but found Gertrude a completely satisfying day hike. Probably my second favorite in the Wright's Lake area after Maud & Doris lakes.
