Pingree Lake Trail

Pingree Lake Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trip visits some of Emigrant Wilderness’s most beautiful lakes, which differ in character from granitic, dramatic, isolated Kole Lake, barely nestled in a mountain summit, to the densely forested, popular Pingree Lake. Incomparable beauty is found at every step."

Great destination (it's all true about camping, swimming and islands). I recommend doing away with the Deer lake portion of the trip and approaching via Piute mdws - Groundhog mdws - Louse canyon - Rosasco lake. From Louse canyon and on (we camped at Rosasco but went to Kole lake, which has some spectacular views to the east in addition to what is mentioned in the guide) the amount of traffic seems to really go down.
