Valley View Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"Beginning alongside Pfeiffer Redwood Creek, this semi-loop route meanders past some of the park’s largest coast redwoods. Climbing above the canyon floor, the trail offers views down the Big Sur River gorge."
--Analise Elliot Heid, Hiking & Backpacking: Big Sur (Wilderness Press).
"Pfeiffer–Big Sur State Park is the unofficial capitol of the Big Sur Coast. The hike follows a gentle trail up through shady redwood groves to 60-foot Pfeiffer Falls, then climbs a challenging grade up to the Valley View overlook, where visitors have the rare chance of seeing North America’s largest bird, the California condor, soaring in its natural habitat."
--Dan Brett, Hiking the Redwood Coast (Falcon Guides).
