Lake Nacimiento is the county's largest reservoir. The 16-mile-long lake, nestled in a tree studded valley, was formed by a dam on the Nacimiento River. It is a popular recreation area with 165 miles of shoreline. The Oak Knoll and Quail's Roost Trail is a connector trail to the various lakeside campgrounds. The trail winds through beautiful stands of oaks and pines with great views of Lake Nacimiento and the Nacimiento Dam.
