Nacimiento Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Ever have one of those days when you’ve caught so many fish you lose count? That’s what it can be like at Nacimiento Lake thanks to its large population of bass. Spotted, white and largemouth bass are dispersed throughout the lake, which is located outside of Paso Robles. The white bass are everywhere after they finish spawning in the Nacimiento River in the spring. The whites usually take over The Narrows, where anglers can reel in dozens of fish on minnows and light-colored Rooster Tails. Whites will convene in Las Tablas Cove where white and yellow spinners and small crankbaits can connect with fish. Just look for the boils and run a spinner or streamer through the strike zone at a constant speed. This fly-fishing chapter describes the "where, when, and how" for fishing in this area. It includes a full-page map and information on the known hatches, suggested equipment to use, the best flies to use, season, limits, nearby accommodations, and camping."
