Palomar Mountain Observatory Trail Professional Review and Guide
"The hike to Palomar Observatory along the trail from Observatory Campground is best taken in the spring when wildflowers are in full bloom. The Palomars are one of the highest mountain ranges in the region, and the tops are covered in lovely Coulter and Jeffrey pine. The hike traverses a charming oak forest interspersed with the conifers. The views and floral displays can be quite stunning if the visit correlates with the highest percentage of spring blossoms."
