Cluster Lakes Loop

Old Station, California

Cluster Lakes Loop Professional Review and Guide

"The Cluster Lakes number nearly a dozen. Not all have names, and some are no larger than ponds, but they all have great charm. Silver Lake is the largest, its cool waters spreading south from the trail toward the wooded mesa that guards the eastern flanks of Hat Mountain; its sister, Feather Lake, also lies at the foot of this broad, flat-topped ridge. Tie these two in with Summit Lake, the Twin Lakes, Echo Lake, and the Bear Lakes, and you’ve got a loop that skirts so many bodies of water you’ll feel downright soggy by the time you return to the trailhead. Highlights: Lakes, lakes, and more lakes. Big and small, deep and shallow, bottle green and reflective blue, it’s a virtual bonanza of lakes!"
