Little Yosemite Cascades

Little Yosemite Cascades Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Alameda Creek steepens and gathers speed as it is funneled through the steep-walled Little Yosemite canyon, forming a series of rolling cascades.

Soaring raptors and flitting butterflies, wildflowers and spreading oaks, serpentine rock outcroppings painted with lichen, and a lovely cascade tumbling through mossy creek boulders … this loop pretty much epitomizes an ideal Bay Area waterfall hike.

The route tops out with an easy traverse offering excellent views in three directions before dropping to the falls on boulder-tossed Alameda Creek in Little Yosemite. The loop passes through an area grazed by lumbering bovines, but don’t let the cow pies dissuade you. Watch your step and enjoy."
