Big Rock Ridge Fire Road Professional Review and Guide

"Bring binoculars and climb up the south-facing slope of Big Rock Ridge to a hilltop offering magnificent views in all directions. Can be windy. Some poison oak."

Excellent workout, especially the 20 minutes or so starting about 6 minutes from the trailhead & then some relief for the next 5 - 15 minutes as the steepness becomes spottier (especially if you take the path to the right of the saddle-point). Most of the first 20 minutes (from the trailhead) are fairly shady, but the rest is mostly exposed (especially to the left of the saddle; if you go to the right, beyond the crest (i.e., after 5 - 10 minutes) you begin to get shade again).
