Nicholas Flat Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"One of the most challenging and rewarding hiking experiences in the Santa Monica Mountains, this trail rises from the coast through four different plant communities to spectacular secluded grasslands. Along the way, you’ll be treated to some of the best views of the Santa Monicas you’ll get on any hike."
-- Casey Schreiner , Day Hiking Los Angeles (The Mountaineers Books).
"This loop hike in Leo Carrillo State Park leads to Ocean Vista, a 612 ft. knoll with great views of the Malibu coastline and Point Dume. The Willow Creek Trail traverses the east-facing hillside up Willow Creek Canyon to Ocean Vista. The hike returns along the Nicholas Flat Trail, one of the few trails connecting the Santa Monica Mountains to the Pacific Ocean."
