Great hike! Not sure about the last review? This is a trail surrounded by grasslands, so nothing was overgrown. I highly recommend this hike, beautiful and solitary. Great views and challenging but not too hard.

We tried to tackle this one on Saturday May 13th and trying is where we stopped. Anyway, it was overgrown primarily because it's early in the season and there haven't been very many hikers up there yet. Overgrown usually isn't a problem unless the area is swarming with ticks.... which the hills around Solano county have plenty! Within the first 200 yards past the trail head we had at least 6 ticks crawling up our legs (that's at least 6 on each of us!) Anyway, this probably isn't such a bad hike when the ground is still damp and ticks aren't around, but if it's dry a.k.a hiking season! Then prep yourself with DEET... long pants... and check for ticks frequently!
