Napa River Trail: Trancas Street to Lincoln Avenue Professional Review and Guide
"The Napa River flows 50 miles from the headwaters on the slopes of Mount St. Helena into San Pablo Bay. The river, among the largest in the Central Coast Range, runs through the heart of Napa Valley. The river drains 426 square miles (270,000 acres) of land with 47 tributaries (250 miles of streams) on its journey south. Along the lower 17 miles, the freshwater from the streams mingles with salty tidal waters from the bay (from San Pablo Bay in Vallejo to Trancas Street in Napa). Below Napa, the river spreads out into the productive marshes and wetlands of the Napa-Sonoma Estuary."
