Moore Creek Tr Professional Reviews and Guides
"The hike along Moore Creek is a journey into the deep recesses of a secluded canyon. The trail first climbs high on the canyon wall and enjoys sweeping vistas before descending to the creek. It then follows the stream through the narrow gulch, crossing the water several times. The trail ends at a small gorge, where water races through a series of chutes and pools in the bedrock.
Moore Creek drains a large canyon to the east of the Napa Valley. Beginning high on Howell Mountain, the creek flows through Los Posadas State Forest before entering a deep, narrow canyon. South of the canyon the river flows into Lake Hennessey. The heart of Moore Creek Canyon is now a part of Moore Creek Park, one of the newest natural preserves in Napa County."
