Sylvan Meadows

Sylvan Meadows Professional Review and Guide

"The Santa Rosa Plateau’s Sylvan Meadows Multi-Use Area is open to all non-motorized means of travel—hiking, jogging, biking, and horseback riding— with the stipulation that all users stay on the designated roads and trails.

The comprehensive tour of the whole Sylvan Meadows area, described here, includes an out-and-back side trip into Stevenson Canyon that would seem to be superfluous, but should not be missed."

More Sylvan Meadows Professional Reviews and Guides

"Sylvan Meadows is one of California’s finest remaining native bunchgrass prairies. The meadow is dotted with magnificent oaks. The dirt Sylvan Meadows Rd. encircles the meadow. It is a designated multi-use trail, popular with equestrians and mountain bikers as well as hikers and joggers. The best time to visit is the spring, when the meadow is lush and the wildflowers are in bloom. This is also a good area for bird watching. Ask at the visitor center for more information about birding."
