Old Fisherman's Wharf to Pacific Grove Marine Refuge Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This popular recreational trail is a significant stitch in the California Coastal Trail. The hike goes through the heart of Monterey’s marine history and along Paci?c Grove’s most scenic stretch of shoreline.

The blue curled wave emblem nailed on the lamppost at Shoreline Park just beyond the Custom House Plaza and Fisherman’s Wharf is a discreet but thrilling reminder of the importance of the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail as a stitch in the ongoing commitment to complete the continuous 1,200-mile coastal ribbon for recreation and transportation known as the CCT (California Coastal Trail). The emblem officially identifies trails and paths as vital stitches in the grander scheme of coastal access and open-space conservation.

The first mile of this trail buzzes with activity on weekends and holidays as divers, kayakers, cyclists, joggers, and strolling tourists enjoying the historical and recreational bounty of Monterey Bay."
