Valencia Peak Professional Reviews and Guides

"Valencia Peak, at 1347 feet, has spectacular 360-degree views of Montana de Oro, Morro, Los Osos Valley and the rugged coastline from Point Sal to Piedras Blancas. The chain of morros leading to San Luis Obispo are in view. The trail crosses grasslands and straddles a ridge between two canyons before climbing directly up to the coastal peak."

"Atop the summit, the vistas are absolutely astounding. The entire park can be surveyed from this height, as can the nine morros, or volcanic outcroppings, of San Luis Obispo County, including Morro Rock protruding from the sea. Wildlife is abundant in this area, including skunk, raccoon, coyote, rabbit, squirrel, badger, deer, fox, bobcat, and mountain lion. Over forty types of birds call the region home, and raptors such as the white-tailed kestrel can commonly be seen along the hiking trail to the summit."

Beautiful hike. Dense fog cover at the peak when I went, but judging from the views half way up would be amazing if skies were clear! Fairly easy hike, saw a lot of wildlife!
