Highway 58 near Tehachapi Pass to Highway 178 at Walker Pass Professional Review and Guide
"Surprisingly to many people, most geographers include the Tehachapi Mountains as part of the mighty Sierra Nevada, calling the range the “Sierran Tail” or the “Sierran Hook.” The Sierra’s southernmost tip, then, is the southwest point of the Tehachapi Mountains below the junction of the San Andreas and Garlock faults."
