South Fortuna Trail Professional Reviews and Guides
"Unlike the view from Cowles Mountain, Fortuna Mountain’s expansive vantage encompasses a good deal of still undeveloped country. Mission Trails Regional Park maps label the original 1291-foot Fortuna Mountain as “North Fortuna Mountain.” On those same maps, a 1094-foot subsidiary peak to the southeast is now unimaginatively dubbed “South Fortuna Mountain.” From either summit, you can look southeast to 1194foot Kwaay Paay Peak, 1379-foot Pyles Peak, and, finally, 1591-foot Cowles Mountain. It’s easy to see why this linear range of mountains is called “Long Mountain” on century-old maps."
