Nobles Trail to Badger Flat Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Walk a bit of history along a segment of the Nobles Emigrant Trail. For nearly the first 4 miles, the old wagon road heads downstream within earshot of Hat Creek, crossing the stream a couple of times. Then the trail turns east and proceeds through serene forest for two more miles on the way to secluded Badger Flat. Unfortunately, you will see evidence of the 2012 Reading Fire along this route.
Head northeast down the closed road on a half-mile, moderate descent to a bridge over West Fork Hat Creek, the last easily obtainable water until a ford of Hat Creek. Up to that base, the predominant shrub is Bloomer’s goldenbush, a low, uninteresting bush that most hikers overlook until late August, when blossoms of golden sunflowers paint the landscape with splashes of yellow."
