This is a wonderful tour in exquisite terrain—a good trip for an intermediate skier. This route can be completed easily in a single day or made into a relaxing overnight trip. The Ridge Lakes, just 2 miles and a 1,200-foot climb from your car, are a great place to camp, if you choose to spend the night. Although the south entrance to the park is a popular starting point for cross-country skiers and snowshoers, once you leave the road the crowds will disappear.
