Kings Creek to Southwest Campground

Kings Creek to Southwest Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Four different features lure hikers to this trip, which begins at the Kings Creek Picnic Area and ends at the Southwest Walk-in Campground. Cold Boiling Lake is the first stop, where volcanic gasses from deep below the earth’s crust bubble forth from a shallow pond.

The next two destinations are something of opposites: Crumbaugh Lake is a large body of water bordered by flowery meadows, while the sprawling vegetation around Conard Meadows hides a tiny pond. Lastly, 75-foot Mill Creek Falls, the park’s highest waterfall, will delight passersby with a thunderous display of watery splendor in early summer. With interesting geology, scenic lakes, wildflowers, and a waterfall, the trail packs a large amount of stunning scenery into a relatively short distance."
