Forest Lake Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Forest Lake sees relatively few visitors in the summer, as the shallow lake o?ers no swimming or ?shing and is home to a
healthy population of mosquitoes. The lake appears to be so uninviting, no o?cial trail leads to the shore, despite lying only a tenth of a mile o? the Brokeo? Mountain Trail.
Seemingly, the only redeeming qualities this ignored body of water possesses are the early season display of wild?owers and the backdrop of rugged cli?s from the southeast face of Brokeo? Mountain. However, winter seems to improve the plight of the neglected lake considerably, as the mosquitoes are long gone, scant few recreationists are looking for either a midwinter swim or a ?shing trip, and no one is disappointed in the shallowness of a frozen lake. A winter trip is not all fun and games though, as route-?nding through the dense forest can be challenging at times."
