Crumbaugh Lake and Bumpass Hell

Crumbaugh Lake and Bumpass Hell Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This walk takes you in the back way to Bumpass Hell, thus avoiding the crowds that reach this entrancing volcanic landscape from the other end of the trail near Lake Helen. Along the way you’ll visit Cold Boiling Lake, which lives up to its name, and Crumbaugh Lake, which offers the opportunity for a quiet picnic with scenic views. Steam vents, fumaroles, and mudpots create a surreal scene at Bumpass Hell."
